CALL TO ARTISTS
DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts invites you to a special Plein Air event and opening reception.
See the artistic process unfold while enjoying a lovely area of our city. We are offering the
opportunity for area artists to demonstrate their talent, the chance to win a solo exhibition at
DAAS CO-Op Art Gallery and Gifts, and the public to enjoy the creation of art firsthand. On
October 1, from 10 am to 6 pm, participating artists will be painting outdoors from Royal Palm
Square to the Alliance for the Arts. The artwork created during that day will be submitted to our
gallery for display.
On October 8, our monthly reception coincides with the opening of the new Soco Cultural
District in Ft Myers and the winner of a solo exhibition will be selected that evening. Exhibition
Coordinator at the Alliance for the Arts, Krista Johnson, will be our guest judge. The finished
pieces of all the artists will be on exhibition from 6 to 9:30 pm that evening and throughout the
month. There is a $15 fee for artists to participate and they may submit more than one piece
for the exhibition. All artwork must be created during the Plein Air event on October 1, after
canvas check-in at 10 am, and ready to hang submission by 6 pm. Artists may register to
participate at DAAS CO-OP Art Gallery & Gifts by visiting the gallery or calling 239-590-8645.
Registration deadline is September 24.
The Art Supply Swap
Saturday, September 24 11am-3pm.
Open to all artists and whole community.
All supplies/materials welcome. It is up to each artist to make their own swaps or sales!
Invite all of your artist friends!
This is a fun way to get rid of those gently used materials and supplies you may have tried but never liked and now are just sitting in your studio space! This of it as a great art supply garage sale!
